Hello TESOL members!

My name is Despoina Pagiota, and I am the brand new TESOL Greece Journal Editor. I am very excited to embark on this new journey, and I hope you enjoy the issues I will bring to you in collaboration with the rest of our amazing editing team!
In this issue, we are delighted to present to you some very interesting articles from our esteemed authors. Volkan Iner’s article, “Nurturing Tomorrow’s Leaders: The Power of
Social-Emotional Learning”, explains to us what is Social-Emotional Learning and how we can apply it to our classrooms. Heather Woodward and Joshua Rappeneker highlight the
importance of enriching our students’ spoken fluency. Panoraia Balali discusses translanguaging and plurilingualism in her article titled “On Translanguaging and Plurilingualism: A Personal Perspective”. Last but certainly not least, Dimitris Primalis interviews Dr. Marisha Kaw on how we can help our students to learn how to write.

We are all looking forward to our big summer event in Naxos this year. The “Mirror, Mirror on the wall, Who Am I after all?” workshop by Stella Kopakaki provides event participants with practical ways, tools and techniques of recognising, revealing and accepting ourselves. And if you did not find this workshop appealing enough already, you will have the chance to relax and enjoy yourselves on the beautiful island of Naxos. Don’t miss out!

We hope you enjoy the articles that we have included in this issue; we know we have. With these articles,
we always aspire to help you broaden your horizons, gain a new perspective and add to your professional skill set. After all, we never cease to learn.

Thank you for your support and for joining us in this wonderful journey. Strength is found in numbers, and with your help we know we can achieve great things. Enjoy reading and never
stop learning.

Warm regards,
Despoina Pagiota Editor-in-Chief, TESOL Greece Journal
