Eleftherios Kormpas Annual Membership Grants (March 2025-2026)  This year 15 Eleftherios Kormpas Membership Grants are going to be given to 15 attendees of the 46th TESOL Greece Annual International Convention  “Embracing Action in Practice”. The Eleftherios Kormpas Membership Grant is to attend the TESOL Greece International Convention and become a full member of the association for one calendar year.    Any TESOL Greece Member (who resides in Greece)\, lapsed\, non-member or potential member may apply for the Eleftherios Kormpas Membership Grant.   The Membership Grant is two fold: Supports (valid\, at the time of application) ΟΑΕΔ card holders. Up to five applicants will be accepted per year at the time of the convention (30€ fees).Supports (valid\, at the time of application) Student ID holders from public and private Tertiary Educational Entities.  Up to five applicants will be accepted per year at the time of the convention (25€ fees).Supports regular members. The TESOL Greece Board\, 2024-2025 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Eleni Kampadaki Grant\n \n \n \n \n \n In loving memory of Eleni Kampadaki\, a life-long supporter of TESOL Greece and a member-at-large\, this grant is a one-year membership to TESOL Greece and it is awarded each year to a student-volunteer of the Convention. Its purpose is to encourage TESOL Greece membership amongst young future professionals of ELT and all volunteers of the Convention are eligible and can apply at the registration desk on Saturday and Sunday before the AGA. In contrast to the monologic nature that can characterise performance-oriented storytelling\, Alastair will argue for (and model) a process-oriented approach which is characterised by dialogue and allied to Vivian Gussin Paley’s notion of storytelling as ‘the social art of language’. Recognising the challenges of developing sustained narratives with language learners\, Alastair will present oral storytelling as multimodal communication in which dialogue is supported\, beyond verbal language\, by multiple channels of communication. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Alastair is an artist educator\, performance storyteller and independent scholar working in the UK and abroad. His interest in making connections between storytelling\, dialogue and embodiment informs his teaching of both storytelling performance and the applications of storytelling and narrative communication in educational contexts. In 2022 Alastair finished his term as the Principal Lecturer in Early Years and Primary English Education at the University of Roehampton (London)\, having worked in university-based teacher education from the early 2000s. She holds a Master’s in Applied Linguistics and a Doctorate in Education. She is currently the Coordinator of IATEFL LTSIG (Learning Technologies Special Interest Group). She is a Consulting Member of the MA in CALL committee of the Cyprus University of Technology\, giving suggestions\, support\, and feedback to evaluate and adapt MA programme to meet the needs of language instructors in schools.
